Lions
Family Membership Initiative
Volunteering together allows families to share precious
time with each other and to pass down values of giving back to the
community from one generation to the next. Learn more about the
Lions Family Initiative and how your club can participate.
Boomers
Outreach Campaign
This new membership initiative largely appeals to the 77 million
North American “Baby Boomers,” born between 1946 and 1964.
Other countries may have similar population booms for this
generation who were born in the 1950’s and 60’s. Boomers have the
highest volunteer rate of any age group and are looking for
meaningful service opportunities.
Learn how to encourage this “new generation of Lions” to become
involved in your Lions club. View the

Eastern Europe Project
Eberhard J. Wirfs
First International Vice President
Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest and most dynamic
volunteer service organization, with 1.3 million members belonging
to 45,000 Lions clubs in more than 200 countries. For nearly a
century, Lions have been helping change the world for the better
by responding to local and global humanitarian needs.
Though we come from different countries and cultures, we Lions
share a core belief: Community is what we make it. We believe the
best solutions to societal problems and to humanitarian needs
happen when men and women come together in a spirit of voluntary
service. And because of the personal commitment and sense of
responsibility held by each Lion member, our global network of
Lions clubs is indeed making the world a better place.
In eastern parts of Europe where the need for voluntary service
is growing, we are embarking on a major effort to organize more
Lions clubs and to welcome more men and women into our
organization. This Web site introduces you to the Lions Eastern
Europe Project (EEP), to its leaders and to the wonderful
opportunities we can offer to individuals who want to serve
mankind and further develop their personal abilities in doing so.
We look forward to hearing from you.
